Description: A fine and rare Tiffany & Company sterling silver bon bon spoon, Late Nineteenth century, circa 1880. The cast terminal is decorated with a female figure resembling Eve in the Garden of Eden. She is flanked by two other female figures placed within a lush framework with fruit garlands, two swans and two doves. There is a cherub rising from acanthus at the center of the handle. The bowl is gilded and monogrammed T E under a crown. The strap-work in the terminal and handle are also lightly gilded. The back of the spoon has wonderful engraved floral decoration. Condition is very good. Dimensions: Length 11 1/2". Width 3". Weight 6.1 troy ounces. The piece is stamped Tiffany & Co, Sterling, 583, and with the letter M. A related example is pictured in plate 427, page 283, in Tiffany Silver Flatware 1845-1905, by William P. Hood, Jr.
