Description: Incredible antique Japanese netsuke, circa 19th century. This carved ivory piece is in the image of a mermaid but with a kabuki face! The face actually rotates on a spindle to reveal alternating alluring and evil faces. The piece is signed on the bottom - certainly created by a master craftsman. Measures about 2 7/8 inches long. Please note that this item was made from African Elephant Ivory. It was lawfully imported and is lawfully being sold.
